The Healing Benefits of Sleep

How sleep can cure a multitude of illnesses

There was a reason your parents, grandparents, and teachers, told you to go to bed early. You see sleep is like medicine for the mind, body, and soul. I know, your thinking, I know that, and so does, the whole world by now, but the thing is, why don't we just appreciate the advice, and take advantage of the benefits sleep really offers? I get that, we live in a grind for grind world, no one is content with little any more, and appreciates the little things, such a seeing a smile on your child's face in the morning, instead the phone, coffee mug, computer, bus pass, or some car keys gets your up vote and lands in a line of procession of things you look at first thing in the morning. Questions: Just how did we get here?

There are many theories and suggestions but the biggest one is what we were taught growing up, that unless we grind day in day out, we will never be happy, healthy and rich. My flesh feels like bursting into 50 Cent's rap, Get Rich or Die Trying" but I will digress and go to God's word and here what the Bible says about work, happiness, health, and money. In fact, I can actually go to one single scripture that summarizes them all and offers a clear message on how we should approach, the love of money, and the desire to out do God in his provisions. Ready for it, here goes:

 

“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” – Phil 4:19

So, what do you think? We you expecting a laundry list of Bible verses? or a long lecture? Nope. You see, your heavenly father is pretty easy going. He wants what's best for you, so you an rest in Him. He promised to provide for ALL of your needs. All you have to do is believe! But I still know that you are not convinced so I will tell you that you have to work at your thought process, and be open to what God will show you to unblock your clogged senses, and mindset that keeps you from seeing the blessings right in front of you. Yes, your blessings, and resources are at your finger tips. All you need to do is open your eyes. You will be surprised to learn that the answers to your prayers and requests are right in your lap. The things and people around you that you deemed unusable are very much able to meet your needs, if you would only see things as they really are.

Okay, so I know you clicked the link to see the other new benefits that sleep has, since you probably read so many, and wondered what does this site offer that others don't, well, just know that what you just read above is really the key to appreciating a good night's sleep or a day's nap. For when you begin to place value on something, then and only then will you take hold of it and use it. Yes, one has to see the purpose of something first before going over the benefits. Sadly, in today's world people are indoctrinated to believe in what's in it for me first, than why they should take hold of something. For what's in it for you may not be what you really need, but rather why you should do it, especially since one will most likely have to explain to someone else such as a child who will as the "why" question. Wouldn't you rather be prepared as well as informed? Sure you do.

So without further a due here a numerous health benefits of sleep once you realize the value of it and make it a daily habit.
